S&A Cherokee Wins Six Walter Raleigh Awards from RPRS

Cary, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2011) – S&A Cherokee, a full-service communications firm, has won six 2011 Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Excellence in Communication from the Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS), including a Best in Division winner. The awards were presented Sept. 27 at a banquet at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel.

The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards is a showcase of exemplary work by public relations and communication professionals throughout North Carolina. This annual competition recognizes and honors practitioners who have achieved excellence in a variety of categories, as judged by an independent panel of judges.

S&A Cherokee earned awards in the following categories:

Crisis Communications – Honorable Mention, Garner Responds to ConAgra Plant Closing

More Bang for the Buck – Honorable Mention, ReUseConex

Promotional Campaigns – Silver, Commercial Finance Association: Repositioning Asset-Based Lending

Magazine – Gold, Cary Magazine

Radio Ads or Public Service Announcement – Gold, Band Together NC Radio Ads

Audio Visual Communications Division – Best in Division, Band Together NC Radio Ads

Earlier this year, the firm won four InSpire Awards from the North Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NCPRSA), three Hermes Creative Awards, two Apex Awards for Publication Excellence, and a Communitas Award.
