Please work from home today.
Everyone stay safe!
Due to the potential for bad weather tomorrow afternoon and WCPSS closing three hours early, we’re going to make tomorrow a work from home day. Many of you were already scheduled to work from home tomorrow and several did today. If you don’t have what you need to be able to work from home, feel free to pop in and grab what you need or work until lunch and take what you need with you.
Severe Weather Policy (Company handbook)
Severe weather is to be expected occasionally, especially in winter months. Except in case of the loss of power, the office is always open and employees are expected to work their normal work schedule. Employees are encouraged to use caution when reporting to work in severe weather. A decision to close the office for any reason can only be made by two members of the management team. Management will make every effort to notify employees if our severe weather policy is in place by posting any office closings on WRAL or on the company’s website.
If the employee decides that it is unsafe in his or her judgment to report for work due to bad weather conditions, the employee is allowed to take PTO hours for time missed. Employees are expected to report for work as quickly as possible on inclement weather days and those who report for work by 11 a.m. on days of severe weather are not charged any PTO hours (this benefit should not be abused as employees should arrive at work as quickly as possible and not wait until 11 am to report). Employees must be present in the office in order to get credit for the workday.
