Cary, N.C. – S&A Cherokee, an award-winning full-service integrated communications company, welcomes new hire Sara Schweiger as a staff writer for its Cherokee Media Group division. Schweiger joined Cherokee Media Group in May as a staff writer for automotive business and automotive finance publications.
Schweiger’s new role includes covering the United States and Canadian used-car industries and the auto finance business. She will be copy editing and working with the automotive editorial team to produce multiple online and print publications.
Schweiger has a background in copy editing and reporting, and previously worked at daily newspapers in Burlington, Vermont, and Springfield, Massachusetts. Most recently, she worked at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette in Massachusetts with the copy and web desks, and later reported on education.
Schweiger received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clark University and master’s degree in journalism from Emerson College.
Recently relocated to North Carolina, Schweiger lives in Cary with her husband and 9-year-old daughter. In her free time, she enjoys lots of music, books, documentaries, yoga, meditation and binge-watching episodes of 1980s sitcoms, especially “Cheers.”
“Sara has a sharp eye for details and knows how to cover a beat, and both of those skillsets make her a strong journalist. She has made this team better each day,” said Bill Zadeits, president of Cherokee Media Group.
